Mark
Swoon’s co-owner Mark, worked at Vidal Sassoon Manchester for 14 years. He won an international Stylist of the Year award, and was a member of the creative team before he left.
He has also been involved in a wide variety session styling including London Fashion Week, TV makeovers, seminars and catwalk shows ranging from Scandinavia to Japan.
Precision and creativity distinguish Mark’s work, with an emphasis on suitability for the individual and their lifestyle. His extensive training and salon experience has helped develop his distinct style and aesthetic vision. Mark has built up a devoted clientele thanks to his consistent, superior hair styling.
He is also obsessed with cycling, health and nutrition, and is a dedicated practitioner of Ashtanga yoga.
Dean
Co-owner Dean (also known as David) is known for his outstanding skill and attention to detail.
He has an extensive background in hairdressing with over 25 years experience in the industry.
He spent 11 of those working with Mark as a senior stylist at a Vidal Sassoon in Manchester where he specialised in both men’s and women’s hairdressing.
His talents have taken him across the globe – managing and working in salons all over the world – including Hong Kong, Tokyo, Sydney and LA.
Technical finesse and artistic integrity set Dean apart from other hairdressers, an opinion that all his clients seem to share Dean is also a yoga enthusiast and a passionate surfer.
Michelle
On leaving school, Michelle’s main ambition was to use her creative and artistic abilities on hair design.
She gained a quality apprenticeship at a Vidal Sassoon in Manchester, where she worked alongside her Swoon colleagues for 11 years. She took a year-long break to travel around the world and had a position in an exclusive salon in Sydney.
Michelle provides a friendly and attentive service. Her technical ability allows her to create soft sexy hair with movement, texture and emphasis on client satisfaction.
Michelle is also interested in fashion and enjoys dining out, travel,and exercise.
Jennie
Jennie has worked with the Swoon team at Vidal Sassoon for 17 years, where she developed her skills, technicality and creative vision.
Staying at the forefront of current fashion trends, Jennie is inspired and motivated by her clients.
Known for her adventurous approach and technical brilliance, Jennie will customise your haircut to suit your hair texture and accentuate your features, with a shape that is easy to recreate at home.
Rachel
Rachel has worked as a senior colour technician for 12 years with the rest of the Swoon team, at Vidal Sassoon in Manchester.
Always on the look out for new trends and techniques, she will create the perfect look by recommending colour to compliment any skin tone and sense of style.
Specialising in colour, Rachel has a gift for restructuring hair with the highest level of skill, individuality and creativity.
She is passionate about her work and takes absolute pride in creating high quality, unique and beautiful colours for her clients.
Victoria
Victoria trained at Vidal Sassoon and has since gained 13 years of industry experience providing her with an ideal combination of both creativity and expertise.
She believes that style should depend on the individual, not just current trends and aims transform people’s self-esteem with the perfect haircut.
Her vast experience and superb creativity have rewarded Victoria with a loyal clientele and a career that she loves.
Dominique
Dominique specialises in colour, combining cutting edge style with her unique perspective.
She has a sophisticated understanding of the subtleties of color: How just the right shade can transform your skin to bring out your natural glow.
She spent 5 years working her magic on clients at Vidal Sassoon and her simple yet refreshing policy to listen to her clients allows her to tailor make a hair colour that perfectly enhances their skin tone.
She has an exceptional talent for creating beautiful dressings and hair up for weddings or special occasions.
Natasha
Natasha (also known as Jen) has worked at one of the most exclusive hair salons in Manchester for 22 years before joining her colleagues at Swoon.
Natasha is extremely creative and enthusiastic about hair and provides a very precise cut and finish to all of her clientele.She is highly trained with vast experience with the ability to achieve a range of easy to look after hairstyles.
Natasha also loves being active and climbed Ben Nevis in Scotland in August 2014, raising over £1000 for Macmillan.
Liz
Elizabeth (Liz) has over 22 years’ experience working in the hairdressing industry, all of which has been served at Vidal Sassoon, alongside the members of the Swoon team. Upon leaving school Elizabeth started her apprenticeship at the Vidal Sassoon Academy before working her way up to the highest level as a Senior Creative Stylist.
She has spent the majority of her career working in Manchester, with her talents also taken her to Leeds, Cardiff and London, passing on her skills and creative expertise to a new generation of stylists.
Elizabeth has a real passion and flair for all aspects of both men’s and women’s hairdressing, and takes pride in offering a consistently high quality creative service.
She believes that every haircut is distinctive in the way it is precisely styled for the individual and their unique features. While keeping up to date with current trends, she always listens to her clients, and will tailor the look to suit their lifestyle, ensuring it is effortlessly achievable when they leave the salon.
Jane
Jane has been a hairdresser for more than two decades and she is still as enthusiastic as when she first started. She spent 12 years with Vidal Sassoon and a year with Toni & Guy, both in Liverpool, and has more recently been working at Circle of Friends and Zeitgeist in Hebden Bridge.
Her favourite, and most important aspect of her job, is sitting down with new clients for a good chat before she goes anywhere near their hair. It’s all part of providing an individually-tailored service. She prides herself on offering a completely bespoke service, using colour to make her clients’ hair come alive.
When she’s not at work, Jane spends as much time as possible with her husband and two boys. She also loves music and the cinema.
Mel
Starting her career in hairdressing as a receptionist, Melanie rose through the ranks to lead the creative team at Sassoon’s in Manchester.
With 12 year’s experience under her belt, Melanie has had the opportunity to teach cutting techniques at the prestigious London Academy and on stage in Manchester.
Known for precision cutting and meticulous attention to detail, Melanie’s clients appreciate the effort, professionalism and scrutiny she puts into her work.
Alway’s keen to push herself creatively, Melanie has been gaining experience as a Session Stylist and most recently worked as a stylist for FKA Twigs during Manchester International Festival.
Outside of hairdressing, Melanie maintains a healthy vegan lifestyle (all hair products she uses in the salon are cruelty-free), loves yoga and most of all, her King Charles Cavalier Boo.
